Vet travel expenses included
Vet’s travel expenses up to €125 per visit for a vet to examine or treat your horse

**There is a maximum of 3 horses per equine multi-pet policy.
What’s covered
Vet fees
Up to €10,000 per period of insurance.
Complementary treatment
Up to €1,000 each year towards therapies like physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.
Vets travel expenses
Vets travel expenses covered up to €125 per visit.
Euthanasia
Up to €500 to cover the costs of euthanasia and disposal of your horse.
MRI and CT scans
We will pay the cost of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computerised Tomography (CT) scans provided it has been pre-approved by us.
Veterinary Treatment
Consultations, advice, tests, scans, surgery, prescribed medication, nursing and care carried out by a vet.
Common conditions
As long as there were no symptoms or signs before the start of the policy, your policy will cover a wide range of common conditions, including:
Dental
- Tooth fracture up to €450 per period of insurance for a tooth fracture involving the tooth root.
- Cost of root tip abscess (up to the maximum benefit).
Farriery and remedial shoes
- If the treatment is for laminitis, a coffin bone fracture, a coffin bone fissure, hoof wall separation, abscess, perforation, hoof cracks/keratoma, or traumatic hoof injuries.

Optional extras
Death or loss from theft or straying
We will pay the sum insured or market value (whichever is less), up to the maximum benefit for this policy section, if your horse dies, is stolen or goes missing. You can add this cover provided your horse is under 20 years old at the start of the policy, This cover must be purchased with the full Vet Fees policy.
Loss of use
We will pay up to €25000 if your horse needs to be put to pasture or retired due to serious injury or illness. Loss of use must be purchased with death or loss from theft or straying cover. Loss of use can be added to a new policy as long as your horse is under 17 years old at the start of the policy.
What's not covered
Cover for pre-existing conditions that started before your policy
Conditions that began or showed symptoms before your policy started are considered pre-existing. Conditions that arise after your policy exclusion period ends are covered as long as the policy remains active.
Fixed excess and co-insurance percentage
You must pay the fixed excess and co-insurance percentage shown on your Schedule of Insurance. These do not apply to the costs of euthanasia or disposal
